PORTFOLIO

Specialising in site-responsive murals for architectural facades and outdoor spaces. From raw brick to new builds, I work across construction sites, public spaces, and private exteriors — with select interior features and commissioned pieces on board and canvas. Every work is crafted in dialogue with surface, setting, and story.

About

EJ Zyla is an Australian artist and muralist with a strong connection to place, material, and transformation. Her practice is shaped by an intuitive sense of space, pattern, and rhythm — blending the organic with the constructed. With a background in detailed illustration and a deep respect for both natural forms and built environments, EJ’s work reflects a sensitivity to surfaces, stories, and change. She’s drawn to the raw and the weathered, the tension between permanence and impermanence, and the quiet narratives that materials can hold. Whether working outdoors or in the studio, her process is grounded, considered, and hands-on — often shaped by the physicality of the work itself.

Commission enquiries

1. Getting Started
Once you get in touch, I’ll ask for a few things to get the ball rolling:
A clear photo of the wall or space you'd like painted
Approximate measurements
Any reference material or inspiration — whether that’s past work of mine or a general mood or idea (please avoid referencing other artists’ work)
2. Quote & Budget
If you don’t have a fixed budget, I’ll provide a tailored quote based on the scale and complexity of the project.
If you do have a budget, I’ll work with you to create something that fits — without compromising the quality or value of the work.
3. Design Development
To begin the design phase, a non-refundable design deposit is required.
This covers:A custom concept based on your brief
Two rounds of adjustments, so we can fine-tune the design before moving forward
4. Locking in the Details
Once the design is approved, we’ll confirm painting dates and any practical requirements ahead of installation. From there, I’ll take care of the rest — keeping the process smooth, professional, and creative from start to finish.
